Hi everyone, first, thank you for taking the time to read this. I want to give a bit of a backstory, so you guys can get a better picture of the situation, and understand how your donation will be a great help for us.
Despite the years of my family trying to help my sister with her ongoing battle with mental health, domestic violence and addictions. In October last year, my sister's children, aged 5,9 and 13, were taken into care. The children were being kept in a government child care institution. They were due to be put on an adoption list, meaning having the risk of being separated from each other and being moved far away from the remaining family.
My brother (46) is a Brazilian police officer who, despite having his own family of two kids and a wife, volunteered to adopt the kids and save them from remaining in government care. He lives two hours away from family support, and I am here in Northern Ireland.
My brother and his wife are both hard-working people but have been unable to cover all the expenses that come with three extra children.
Our sister's children show signs of trauma, from experiencing domestic violence, abuse, starvation and negligence at terrible levels, which the whole family has effortlessly interfered. Raising them has been a big challenge for my brother and his wife, mentally and physically.
Keeping up with daily routines with 5 children, 3 of whom have never been properly guided and educated, is shaking his whole family.
In most recent events, our retired mum (69 years old) is moving in with my brother to help him with the kids while he and his wife are at work, raising the number of family members to eight.
My husband and I have been helping, but more help is needed.
If you make a donation, your money will go towards basic things such as food, education, and transport. If you want to know more details, or if you feel like helping differently, feel free to ask me. Any help is welcome.
The struggles that my family is going through in Brazil affect me deeply, and I honestly would like to ask for any contribution you can give to help them.
Thank you, and God bless you all.
