Aim: I’m raising funds to transform my dad’s severely overgrown garden into a safe, peaceful place he can enjoy instead of being housebound

I’m raising funds to transform my dad’s severely overgrown garden into a safe, peaceful place he can finally enjoy again — after being housebound for over 3 years.

My dad has suffered multiple strokes and now struggles with walking and mobility. He doesn’t leave the house, doesn’t socialise, and apart from visits from me and my brother, he’s completely isolated and has lost all his confidence.

He has a 120-foot garden, but sadly, it’s become so neglected and overgrown that he can’t even step outside. It’s heartbreaking to see all that space go to waste — especially knowing how much a simple breath of fresh air could improve his mental and physical health.

I want to create a garden that’s accessible, low-maintenance, and peaceful. Somewhere he can safely sit, listen to the birds, and maybe even grow a few flowers or herbs again.

But this is a big job — one I can’t do alone. I’m asking for your help to raise money to:

• Clear the overgrowth
• Build safe, non-slip paths
• Install accessible seating
• Create a small area for flowers or pots
• Add handrails where needed 

Every penny raised will go directly into materials, tools, and labour. .
