Aim: We are fundraising for our friend Muleba who lives in Zambia and has a severe form of sickle cell anaemia. She needs urgent tumor removal
As some of you may know, in 2015 with the help friends from all over the world, we managed to raise funds for hip replacement surgery for our dear friend Muleba. This surgery restored her quality of life and she was able to go back to work.
In 2020 Muleba got married to Fwasani and they have been blessed with two beautiful children ( a girl aged 3 and a 7 month old boy).
Sadly, Muleba has come upon another hurdle. She recently developed ameloblastoma ( 2 tumours in her right parotid gland and paranasal sinus) that required surgical removal. Due to unpaid medical bills, the hospital discharged Muleba following her first surgery (partial removal of the tumour in the parotid gland) and are unable to proceed with further surgeries until the bills are paid.
Muleba’s surgeon exclusively operates privately which means she is unable to access these surgeries as a public patient at the University Teaching Hospital or Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital.
Up until this point Muleba and Fwasani have used their private health insurance to cover their medical bills. Unfortunately due to the extensive amount of time she has spent in hospital, they have exceeded their health insurance annual claim limit and exhausted their savings to cover these mounting medical bills.
Fwasani has been the sole provider during Mulebas prolonged hospital stays and has had to take time off to care for Muleba and the children.
Our aim is to raise £5000. This is to assist with the upcoming surgery, pay the balance of her last surgery and assist with their daily living costs. This will enable this beautiful family to focus solely on Muleba’s health and recovery without the added financial stress.
Friends in Zambia can also give via mobile money (+260977379653 Muleba Nyangu.).
To avoid confusion and scammers taking advantage of these unfortunate circumstances- this crowdfunding page and the mobile money number above are the only means of donating towards this fundraiser. Please reach out should you need to verify these details prior to making your donation. Any amount will go a long way in reaching our goal.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
We will endeavour to provide updates on Muleba’s progress.
