Help me take my mum, who has Alzheimer’s,

Aim: To rise £100.000 to move to Cyprus

My name is Adam, and I’ve been the full-time carer for my mum since 2017, when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

She’s now in the later stages of the disease, and her memory is fading — but one thing she still remembers with love is her childhood village in Cyprus.

Her sisters, nephews, and cousins still live there. It's the place she was born, and it’s where I want to take her — to give her peace, dignity, and a sense of belonging while we still have this time together.

I’ve found a home in her village, Xylotymbou, near Larnaca, and we’re eligible for a UK housing grant that can provide up to £70,000 toward the purchase. But the grant process is slow and uncertain — and I need help raising the rest to secure the home and cover the move before it’s too late.

Why I’m Asking for Help:

I’ve dedicated the last 7 years of my life to caring for my mum, and that meant giving up my job and income. We currently live in a UK council flat, which I will have to give up once we move.

I have saved what I could, but I’m still short by around £60,000 to make this move possible.

• Build a peaceful life for my mum's final years

What Happens After:

My plan is not just to survive — but to build a new life there. I’m learning to use AI to create remote income (writing, content creation, digital work) that I can do from home while continuing to care for her.

Eventually, I want to pay this forward by creating free resources for other carers, and maybe even document this journey to help others going through the same struggles.
