Help Me Rebuild My Life Through a T-Shirt Printing Business
Hello everyone,
My name is Michael Husbands, and I'm reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea for help. I’m 61 years old, 62 next month, and have spent the past 25 years living and working abroad. Unfortunately, like so many others, I lost everything during the COVID-19 pandemic. This crisis forced me to return to England, my home country, with nothing but the hope of starting over.
However, starting over has been far more challenging than I could have imagined. Despite my experience and skills, finding a job here has been nearly impossible. My age, combined with the lack of recent work history in England, has made it difficult for employers to see my value. The frustration of wanting to work, to contribute, but facing closed doors at every turn, is overwhelming.
But I’m not someone who gives up easily. Over the years, while living abroad, I nurtured a passion for designing clothing. What began as a hobby evolved into something more—a collection of over 3,000 unique t-shirt designs that I’ve created with love and care. This brings me to why I’m reaching out to you today.
I’ve decided to turn my passion into a livelihood by starting a small t-shirt printing business. I want to use my designs to create a business that not only helps me survive but also allows me to share something beautiful with the world. I have the creativity and the drive, but I lack the financial resources to get this project off the ground.
The funds I raise will go directly towards purchasing the essential equipment needed to start this business, including a print press, software, a computer, and a printer. I’ll be setting up this small operation in my sister’s shed, and I’ll also need a vehicle to transport the shirts to local markets and car boot sales.
This business isn’t just about making a living; it’s about reclaiming my independence and dignity. It’s about proving to myself that I’m not too old to start anew and that with a little help, I can turn my passion into something that sustains me.
