Margot
Margot is a 1.5 year old black and white moggy cat who we rescued from a local charity. She is an adventurer and loves to be outdoors and climbing the trees.
However, in the last few weeks she became lethargic and quiet, sleeping lots and not showing interest to go outside. She started showing no interest in her food except the odd lickee-lick treat.
Treatment so far:
We took her to the vets where she had blood tests and it shows she is very anaemic and possibly has IMHA (Immune mediated haemolytic anaemia) as her blood is clotting. We brought her home with steroids and penicillin, however she deteriorated and we had to take her to an emergency vets in Ellesmere Port on Saturday morning.
They took an x-ray and saw areas of suspicion. They operated and found her stomach and small intestine is swollen. She is currently recuperating but her temperature is not stabilising. She has perked up a little after being on a drip etc. But we are awaiting test results to get a finite diagnosis.
What next?
The vets would like to refer her to the University of Liverpool Specialist Centre as she is a special case and a 'mystery', but this would cost a minimum of £4,000-£5,000. We have managed to pay one of her current vet bills but she is unfortunately not insured (something I looked at before Christmas but decided to put off until New Year - what a mistake that was!). We need specialist tests and vets to diagnose her properly so we can treat her accordingly.
Thank you
Any money you could spare would be hugely appreciated. She is missed by her 3 furry siblings at home and her human parents. All of our cats are from rescue centres and myself and niece regularly volunteer there.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
