Loki has been the centre of our home and our hearts for just over 8 months along with sister Coco. Without meaning to sound bias, everyone who meets Loki is charmed by his playful and loving nature. He really does light up a room with simply his presence.
Unfortunately, for the last month we have watched Loki deteriorate at the very young age of 10 months. He has been in and out of vets, through invasive surgery and investigations, whilst being in an extreme amount of pain. From watching your little kitten cause havoc running around the house to not even being able to take himself out of his litter tray has been heart breaking for myself, mum and young children. His sister is besides herself not having her companion around, refusing to eat properly and moping around looking for her brother.
Much to our despair, we learnt this week that Loki has an abnormal growth on his neck, we are yet to establish whether it is cancerous. This growth is pushing on Loki's spinal cord which means he is at the moment immobile and struggling to get up on to his back legs.
He is at a specialist hospital, where I know they are doing all they can to help Loki and keep him comfortable. We know that this is very rare in such a young kitten and we know that removal of this abnormal growth is very dangerous for Loki due to where this nightmare has decided to park itself. However, we want to do all we can we help him past this and give him a good life. We just want to see our baby home again taunting his sister.
We cant tell you how much we would appreciate any donation. We did not imagine or plan for such eventualities and really hope I can come back with good news.
