Community Kettle Intergenerational Hub came about through dedication of a team of volunteers, funds raised by our community, such as Crowdfunder, donations from local business. The dedication of our Hub Helpers (volunteers) we have transformed a disused doggy day care into a thriving community space with state of the art heating. Since opening our doors (albeit limited opening hours) we have had 25000 visitors through our doors.
The Hub now offers a wide range of intergenerational experiences, support groups and community gatherings including Citizens Advise, Money Works, Councillors coffee mornings, singing group, crafts heritage talks and lots more offering a warm welcoming space for all.
With the onset of the colder weather, darker nights and the impact of the cost of living crisis our team are keen to offer the following;
- Warming soup with a roll - on a pay what you can basis
- Opening further hours to provide additional activities for our community to participate, funding places for those in financial need
- Extend our pantry area offering further groceries and toiletries
Additional funding would cover the running costs of our space and ensure the success.
