Help Hatton & District Community Responders!

Aim: To fund the startup and deployment of Hatton & District Community First Responders
Hi all! We are thrilled to introduce ourselves as the Hatton & District Community First Responders, your dedicated local CFR group ready to respond to emergency calls on behalf of East Midlands Ambulance Service. As we embark on this journey, we are in the process of onboarding more members and are eager to get out and serve our community soon.
You may wonder, what is the purpose of a community first responder group? Currently, Hatton and Hilton find themselves in a challenging black spot for ambulance responses from East Midlands Ambulance Service. With the nearest hospitals being Queens, Burton, and the Royal Derby Hospital, and our closest ambulance station located in Mickleover, delays can occur as ambulances often travel from these facilities. Our volunteer responders live right here in the communities we serve and respond primarily from home. In any patient’s time of need, every second counts. These dedicated volunteers give their time to help bridge that critical gap.
Where will we respond? The Hatton & District Community First Responders will be available throughout Hatton and surrounding areas such as Hilton, Scropton, and Foston. Each member will respond within a radius of their home address; for instance, if we have a responder in Etwall, they will be responsible for that area while on duty.
So what do we need your support for? We are starting from scratch and are keen to be ready to respond as soon as our team is prepared for deployment. We aim to raise £2,000 GBP to cover essential startup costs including:
- Uniforms
- Equipment (such as defibrillators, clinical observation tools, response bags)
- A response vehicle
