Since taking over Freckles in February 2022 converting a Trailer and going mobile with the Freckles ethos and offerings has always been part of the plan. I envisaged it would happen in a few years time HOWEVER an opportunity has come knocking and it seems too good to miss.
Sophie is the Manager at Freckles, and more importantly is my friend and one of mine and Freckles biggest supporters. She and I have worked together for a few years now and we have always known that we would like to create something together. The stars have aligned and I'm so happy to welcome you to my Crowdfunder for the Freckles share of the FREW & FRECKLES COFFEE, CAKE & DREAM MACHINE.
A friend is selling her beautiful Coffee Trailer. She has been a loyal customer of Freckles from the beginning, and we've followed her journey since she bought and converted her Trailer. We are delighted to have the opportunity to make Barrow Upon Soar its new home and have it make Sophie and my dreams come true!
Our plan is to bring the trailer back home to Barrow, give her a little spruce up and take her on the road. There are some cosmetic and internal repairs which need completing before we can get going. We will use local independent folk wherever possible to help us with every aspect of the work required. There are also tow bars to purchase and the all important gas safety check will need doing. We would love to attend local events and support our Freckles family as best we can. Local events will ALWAYS take priority over any others. I will bring along the Coffee and Cake just like you’re used to from Freckles the store and Sophie has some plans for savoury delights.
As this opportunity has come out of the blue it is a little too much for me to fund organically in such a short space of time. There is also a time pressure as the lovely owner needs to sell the trailer in order to move on with her own plans. I would love to match the Frew investment in the Trailer and raise enough to bring the Dream Machine to Barrow. Hence this Crowdfunder.
What is SO important to Sophie and I is COMMUNITY. The people of Barrow Upon Soar have supported Freckles and Sophie and I fiercely. Be it through coming into the Shop, or recommending us or giving us a hug when things have been hard! We wouldn't be here without YOU. Therefore we pledge to donate 10% of the profits we make from the Trailer in its first year to Barrow Upon Soar Charities or causes. That's our promise to you and its the least we can do. We will also be handing out BARROW RESIDENTS CARDS which will provide you with a 10% discount on anything purchased from the Trailer wherever we are and you happen to be too!
I’d love for you to support the project from the very beginning, as you have Freckles the store, and be a part of it from the start. I’m so passionate about this new venture and I know you will be too! As such i have collated some wonderful rewards in exchange for pledges from you to help me reach my target and get the FREW & FRECKLES COFFEE, CAKE & DREAM MACHINE on the road.
