The Green Party don't get support from big businesses or Trade Unions unlike other parties. So we need funding to help pay for campaigns.

Green Councillors have been elected and re-elected to the Newsome Ward, in Kirklees, at every local election since 1996. Our vote has grown and at the last local elections we achieved 64% of the vote. This hasn't just happened. It is because we regularly keep in touch with local people with our newsletters and we fight every election to win with lots of literature, posters and targeted letters.
We are also working hard to get more Green Councillors elected in Kirklees. In last May's Local Elections our candidate in the Crosland Moor & Netherton Ward, Alex Vickers, has boosted the Green Vote. We have gone from 4th place to 2nd place, gained over a thousand votes and are now the main challengers to Labour. That took a lot of legwork and a lot of leaflets to get that result.
We work hard all the year round taking up local issues and concerns. we hold the Council to account when it is cutting services for local people and we champion our environment in the council chamber and 'muck in' on local projects like clean ups and tree planting.
We're asking people to help us raise £1200, which is the cost of funding 4 ward wide leaflets. Whether you can afford £5, £50 or £500 your donation will be well used and much appreciated.
