Support the Cosy Coven for neurodivergent witches

Aim: Crafting an inclusive, magickal healing community (online & in person) where neurodivergent witches can thrive in creativity & authenticity

Hi, I'm Cosmic Kat; professional witch, creative, and spiritual life coach on a mission to craft an inclusive LGBT+ friendly magickal healing community.

What is the Cosy Coven?

The Cosy Coven is a healing, creative and magickal community (online & in person) for neurodivergent witches (and the witch curious) of any gender who are on a path of self discovery, creative exploration and personal development.

I'm based in Hucknall (just outside of Nottingham) and want to support my local community as well as connecting with a worldwide community online. 

My vision is that with the support of backers we can co-create an inclusive and welcoming spiritual community with monthly online and in person spiritual and creative events and workshops with guest speakers / holistic practitioners every season. 

Our gatherings will typically involve meditation, movement and creative self development practices centred around a specific theme or relevant to the seasonal time of year, i.e. the solstices and equinoxes.

There will be a membership with different tiers which will include access to the events (online) and exclusive online content (YouTube & podcast) as well as an ever growing library of guided meditations, creative activities and printable "spell of the month" PDFs.

There will also be a "pay as you go" option for those who want to try out single sessions or workshops to see if it's for them. 

It started with a podcast and a YouTube channel and so far we've had one in person event; a summer solstice ceremony in the woods where I'm based in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire (see below pic) as well as a few online events.

Why did I create the Cosy Coven?

I started my holistic business Cosmic Kat Spirit as a tarot reader back in 2018 and since then I've expanded my offerings to coaching, crystal and sound healing and spiritual events / workshops.

In 2024 I decided to create The Cosy Coven as it was the kind of community I’d always wanted to be a part of myself.

There’s a saying that you should “teach the class you most need to learn” and I think the same goes for creating communities.

Being a witch AND neurodivergent (I was diagnosed Autistic aged 30) means I’ve often struggled to find places where I truly feel like I fit in, even within different spiritual and creative communities.

As a spiritual seeker I find that much of the inner work has been a solitary journey however over the past few years I have become increasingly aware of the need and importance for lightworkers, creatives and spiritual seekers to unite in powerful, soul-driven communities: We are STRONGER as one.

Not only does being a part of a community offer us the chance to support and encourage one another but it also fundamentally shifts the vibration of the planet as we set an example for the positive transformation that is possible when we find our soul family and do the inner work.

Why am I crowdfunding? 

I first tried to launch The Cosy Coven at the end of 2024 but since I'm a one-woman-show in my business with limited resources, it quickly became apparent that I wouldn't be able to sustain and build the community without some additional support, so I set the idea to one side.

However, I recently became aware of an exciting funding competition for female business owners and founders called Built by her, Backed by us which is a collaboration between Crowdfunder UK and an online lifestyle mag called Muddy Stilettos.

I thought this would be a great opportunity to gain support and publicity for the community as well as raise funds which can support me to grow and expand it in the most sustainable way possible. 

How will the money raised be spent?

Money raised via this Crowdfunder will be invested in the following ways: 

• Paying to rent rooms / spaces for in person events & workshops.
• Upgrading audio & video equipment to produce high quality online content.
• Hiring people to support with managing the online community membership & content creation.
• Setting up a healing hut in my garden or "Spirit Shed" where I can receive people in my local community for in person tarot readings, healing and coaching. 
• Zoom account
• Any supplies needed for in person or online ceremonies or events e.g. candles for group spell work or printing costs
• Advertising & marketing to promote the community both online and in my local area

Do you have to identify as a "witch" AND "neurodivergent" to join?

My vision in terms of who this community is for is anyone who is on an eclectic or non-conventional spiritual path whether you identify specifically as a "witch" or not.

I welcome people from all paths and no paths, as long as you have an open mind and are willing to show mutual respect, love and understanding for the other members of the community. 

I also mean "neurodivergent" in the broadest sense, whether you're dyslexic, autistic, ADHD etc. self diagnosed or formally diagnosed. Basically, if you're anything other than neurotypical and your brain works a bit differently then you're welcome to join us!
