Bella has survived the unimaginable. As a trans woman, she was forced to flee Afghanistan to escape brutal persecution. The choice was stark: stay and face deadly violence or leave behind everything she had ever known in the desperate hope of finding safety. Now in the UK, she faces a new battle- the fight to live as her true self.

For Bella, gender-affirming care is not just about physical transformation; it is about survival, dignity, and the chance to finally see herself reflected in the mirror. But she cannot do this alone.

 But there is always hope, even in hell. Hope in humanity. Hope for awareness. Hope for beauty. Perhaps that is why I chose the name ‘Bella’—because beauty will one day save the world.

The dark times have begun, now we must stand together more, with more empathy, compassion, light, and love. We will survive and shine with greater strength, brighter than the sun.”
