After years on the road and in precarious living situations, thanks to our son Bodhi's arrival we are finally in our dream home, off grid with the goats, a place to live and work, safe and secure.
Now our landlord is selling...
We do in theory get first refusal and we thought we had agreed a figure, but now he has had a much higher offer.
We can't borrow more than the original amount so we are reaching out to see if people would like to help.
We live a very sustainable lifestyle, growing vegetables and planting trees and forest gardens, and keeping a small herd of dairy goats who thrive on clearing weeds and brambles instead of requiring lots of imported grains. They are also our pets and have travelled with us through many challenges and moves.
We found the place we are living by word of mouth after much searching for a safe and permanent home to raise our son while still maintaining our off grid lifestyle.
If we have to leave it could mean rehoming our goat family and Bodhi missing out on the wonderful, nature filled upbringing we had envisaged for him.
We also run our business, Off-Cutz (est. 2009) from our workshops on the land.
Jac recycles leather sofas destined for landfill into unusual items such as top hats and leather covered tankards. I hand weave fabrics using second hand and industry waste. We sell our wares at folk festivals and sustainable fairs.
We have visions of running weaving retreats and leatherwork courses from the land.
We are happy to exchange donations for our products and courses.
We are desperate not to lose our home and we really appreciate any help we can get.
Thank you!
