- Why I need to raise £25,000 for Higher education project?
Just over a year ago I had a job and a place where I called a 'Home', but all these vanished in one day, when I decided to take a different course to do PhD in civil and environmental engineering. My project was very significant to bring impactful change in the community; a fight against air pollution to reduce antimicrobial resistance in the environment we live in. As we know 7 million people in the World have died each year due to the effects of bad air pollution, see how many people are suffering with chronic pulmonary diseases affecting lungs, brain and heart from adults to young children. 40 thousands people are suffering with diseases caused by air pollution in UK alone, which costs NHS several millions each year.
My project which I had started was aimed to find the sources of finely particles of less than 2.5 microns which can penetrate deep to the Lungs and cause major health risks to your body or even death. Finding the distribution of bacteria genes causing multidrug resistance to difficult treating diseases are the main causes of death in humans and animals. there are 2.4 million cases of foodborne illnesses in UK which costs the Government £9 billion every year, and additional £6 billion for unknown causes. (UKRI).
This project will certainly discover vectors and provide clue of diseases associated with antimicrobial resistance, possible innovation of new diagnosis, and drugs, new and validate sampling methods with sensors technologies for detection, and bring positive environmental awareness and impact for green environment to our local communities in London and Nationwide in the UK. the project will provide strategies and protection for example, play grounds for children and pets of how to cope with the outdoor air and indoor air they breath. There is a need for measures to be taken when children are being exposed to environmental outdoor air to avoid bad air, dusts and pollen affecting them.
Allowing me to return to University and complete my PhD would certainly benefit the institution, researchers, scientific community, schools, colleges, and bring positive impact to Hospitals , Clinicians and food safety inspectors, who provide patient care and food safety respectively. It will also allow me to pursuing my future career dreams as a researcher or postgrad in academia or in the industries proving my expertise to my Country and collaboration.
There are many heart-felt good people out there, so please raise funds to reach our goals, which is £25,000 to help Uweis return to his impacted research study at the University. Your kindly support is required urgently and well appreciated.
Thank you
