Help create a calming, mobile learning space for a bright, sensitive SEND child who struggles in traditional environments.

🌱 Her Story

This fundraiser is for my daughter a radiant, curious, and deeply sensitive little girl who experiences the world in a beautifully different way.

She is Autistic. This means she processes her surroundings uniquely, feels things more intensely, and needs calm, nurturing environments in order to truly thrive.

Unfortunately, the noise, structure, and sensory overload of mainstream classrooms have often left her anxious, dysregulated, and withdrawn.

We’ve also been navigating the emotional aftershocks of a difficult and controlling and abusive divorce. It’s been a time of instability and transition, and I’ve done everything to give her grounding, joy, and safety, even when life around us felt uncertain. She has been really struggling emotionally, it's been heartbreaking to watch.

And then, something beautiful happened.

🚐 The Campervan That Changed Everything

Earlier this year, a  friend kindly lent us their campervan.

From the moment we stepped inside, something shifted in my daughter.
It was quiet. Cosy. Private. Safe.
We parked under trees, did creative learning in the woods, played music, did drawings, journaled, read aloud.
She finally had space to regulate, to express, to just be.
The transformation in her was undeniable.

We were promised we could use the van again this summer.

But just a few weeks ago, our friend made the decision to sell it and suddenly, that safe place was gone.

My little girl was devastated. She cried, asking when we could go back. I didn’t have an answer. She became dysregulated and I noticed she was jittery and finding it  difficult to settle and sleep.

That’s when I knew: we have to find a way to create one of our own... a safe space that cannot be taken away.

🛠️ What We’re Building

We’re raising £15,000 to buy and convert a second-hand van into a sensory-friendly mobile learning space, tailored specifically for her neurodiverse needs.

It’s a lifeline for my daughter who just needs this safe space. She's been through a lot in her life so far.

A place where she can learn, rest, regulate, and grow no matter what’s happening around her.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have a circle of wonderful friends who’ve generously offered their time and skills to help with the van’s adaptation and custom build  from insulation and safe electrics to sensory-friendly finishes. Their kindness will help make this dream a reality.

And to ensure her long-term security, the completed campervan will be placed in a trust for her to use throughout her childhood and beyond,  as a stable, safe, supportive space for her learning and wellbeing as she grows.

🧠 What the Van Will Include

  • Soft lighting and sensory textures to soothe overwhelm
  • Cosy seating and reading nooks
  • Insulated interiors with solar power and off-grid capacity
  • Storage for creative tools, books, and nature treasures
  • A calm, adaptable space for learning on the move
  • Safety and warmth, all year round

Everything in it will be chosen with love, care, and her unique brain in mind.

💔 Why We Need Help

Because I am not on benefits, there are no grants or public funds available to cover this kind of support for my daughter, we simply don’t qualify, even though it could make a life-changing difference for her.

I’m a single parent and a full-time carer, not only for my little girl, but also for my elderly mother. My work long hours and this just about covers the essentials, food, housing, basic needs and right now, I simply cannot take on any more debt.

I'm doing everything I can, but this is more than I can manage alone.

That’s why I’m turning to this community.
With your help, we can make this happen before another summer slips by and give my daughter the consistent, calming sanctuary she so deeply needs.

  • Leave a kind message – we’re creating a scrapbook of words to travel with her in the van, so she knows she's not alone.
  • This isn’t just about a vehicle. It’s about rebuilding trust, creating consistency, and helping a child who’s been through so much feel safe again.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for showing up for children like mine — whose needs are so often misunderstood, but whose light is so worth protecting.

With love and deep gratitude,
