Aim: HelixAid aims to deliver fast, transparent crisis aid via Ethereum, empowering a global DAO to fund 1,000+ cases in Year 1 across 60+ countr
Hey there, I’m Daniel James, the founder of HelixAid, and I’m so excited to share what we’re working on! I’m a tech enthusiast with a deep passion for using innovation to solve real-world problems, especially when it comes to helping people in crisis. I’ve always believed that technology can make a difference in the world, and that’s what led me to start HelixAid—a decentralized humanitarian relief platform built on Ethereum. My background is in tech and project management, but more than anything, I’m driven by the idea of creating something that can genuinely save lives and empower communities.
Right now, my team is small but mighty. We’ve got a blockchain developer on board who’s working on our Ethereum smart contracts, ensuring they’re secure and ready to handle aid distribution transparently. We also have an NGO relations lead who’s building partnerships with organizations to help verify aid requests, making sure the funds go to those who need them most. We’re still growing, and part of the funds we raise will help us bring on more talent—like a UI/UX designer and a Solidity expert—to make our platform even better.
Our idea, HelixAid, is all about revolutionizing crisis relief. Traditional aid systems are often slow, opaque, and bogged down by bureaucracy—sometimes taking weeks or months to get help to people in need. We’re changing that by using Ethereum smart contracts to deliver aid fast and transparently. With HelixAid, anyone in crisis can submit a request, and our global DAO—a community-driven organization—votes to approve and release funds instantly, all tracked on the blockchain for full transparency. It’s borderless, mobile-ready, and community-powered, so help can reach anyone, anywhere, in hours instead of weeks.
Our vision is to create a world where crisis relief is swift, fair, and transparent. We want to empower a global community to support those in need, whether it’s a family hit by a flood in Africa or someone facing a medical emergency in LATAM. By 2026, we aim to fund 1,000+ cases in our first year, grow to 10,000+ DAO members across 60+ countries, and provide real-time dashboards so everyone can see where every donation goes. We believe transparency builds trust, and trust builds a stronger community to tackle crises together.

Now, about the money we’re raising—we’re aiming for £32,000 to £50,000 to fully launch HelixAid, and we’ve got a clear plan for every pound. We’ll use £12,500–£29,500 to develop and audit our smart contracts, ensuring they’re secure and trustworthy. Another £2,000–£8,000 will go toward building our website and mobile app, making it easy for anyone to use, with integrations like MetaMask for seamless donations. Backend infrastructure and hosting will take £2,000–£4,500, while DAO tools for community voting will cost £150–£1,500. We’ll also allocate £1,500–£4,000 for design and branding to make our platform user-friendly, and £1,000–£3,000 for legal compliance to operate globally. Every penny will help us launch our MVP by June 2025, fund our first 100 cases by the end of the year, and expand to support more people worldwide.
We’re so close to making this a reality, and with your support, we can bring HelixAid to life and start changing how crisis relief works—one transparent, community-driven donation at a time!
