We're still collecting donations

Arabic speakers in London need health advice and guidance delivered by medical professionals in their mother tongue for COVID-19 awareness
by Naglaa Sadik Ahmed Mustafa in London, England, United Kingdom
On the 1st March 2021 we'd raised £225 with 6 supporters in 243 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Naglaa's World has been operating since 2005 and has a mission to bridge cultural gaps between service providers and service users and assist the integration of Arabic speakers in London.
The problem: Due to COVID-19, the business has been barred from doing any in-person interpreting work, which has been difficult. The majority of Naglaa's World's revenue typically comes from court interpreting, healthcare interpreting, and workshops interpreting, as well as client hours. Now, most of the jobs we had lined up have been cancelled and the primary revenue comes from phone interpreting, which has a much lower hourly charge rate.
Filling the need:
Due to the business' cash flow situation and due to the fact that we know that Arabic speakers with poor English find it harder to access trusted information, we would like to raise money towards organising a series of educational workshops with our partners and with interpreting provided by Naglaa's World. We will bring together partners including Abdul Mageed Educational Trust, IDPAD Coalition UK, BTWSC and Aethos Training & Consultancy to implement a series of 16 workshops over 8 weeks.
The topic of these workshops would be around health and wellness, and would cover COVID-19 protection and prevention, proper nutrition, mental health and staying fit. We will include other topics such as budgetting and living well on a budget, event planning taster training, arts and crafts including soap making and candle making, anda healthy eating demonstrations online on zoom and face to face. We have a trusted reputation in the Arabic community in London, and in 2019 ran workshops on health and well-being before with positive attendance and outcomes for Arabic speakers with low English skills, with attendees coming from all areas of London. We would like now, in the midst of COVID-19, to run a new series of health and well-being workshops to raise awareness and provide preventative education for people from Arabic-speaking backgrounds in London, so that they can keep themselves, their families and communities safe.
