As a female-led, working-class production company, we're passionate about creating opportunities for underrepresented talent. Our lead actress is an incredible up-and-coming Black, hearing-impaired performer whose comedic talent deserves to be seen. This film is an opportunity to push creative storytelling while championing diverse voices.
Heads Down, Hands Up is a quirky, fast-paced comedy that follows an unlikely duo who must outwit a bumbling robber during a late-night petrol station holdup. Peter, a jittery shop clerk with a flair for awkwardness, and Milli, a breezy customer, are thrown together when an armed robber bursts into the store. While Peter panics and scrambles to hide, Milli uses her deafness to her strength, remaining calm. The two are forced team up in a series of hilarious miscommunications, silent strategies, and clumsy heroics.
We want to give this story the justice it deserves, and while we're only working with a small budget, we want to squeeze every bit of creativity we can from this project.
If you're in a position to give, we'd be incredibly grateful for any donation you're able to make. Our aim is to give a platform to the characters we want to see and hear more of, join us on our journey bringing great filmmaking to life!
And in case you're uncertain about the amount of comedy this project will carry, here's a taste of the fantastic Joe we've cast as Peter, we can't wait for him to bring his A game to the role: https://www.tiktok.com/@joemjc/video/7479856476543044886?lang=en
