Headcat Music Purr-fection in Music

What is the concept behind Headcat Music?

The Original Idea was to run a Record Shop, have a tea bar where people can buy Beverages and Light Snacks, Chat and Purchase Their favorite music. Also attached to the project, would have been, a live Music Venue, Bar and Restaurant and Radio Station.

Unfortunately, due to spiraling costs of renting a premise and utilities, I will need to downsize the project and concentrate for the moment on having a Record shop selling the usual music formats, merchandise and Online Mail Order service. 

The plan for the business

Firstly I am looking to raise £25,500+ through Crowdfunder with extra funding if that is possible. Also, I am looking to raise another £25,000+ from other sources. 

Why am i looking for such a large amount of funding? 

There are Three main reasons

Firstly, I have to find enough capital to pay for the rental of the premise which seems to be the cause of a large chunk of the the money disappearing.

Secondly, Have enough Capital to pay the staff that are hired. At the moment, including myself, There will be four staff. If the the premise is any bigger, there will be more staff hired.

Thirdly, I need to make sure that there is enough stock to be in the shop, mail order to bring in enough revenue to keep the place financially secure.

 I am looking to open a medium sized shop up to 1500sq ft with all media formats. This will enable the business to give a good variation in all musical genre's ranging from, Rock and Pop, Punk, Thrash Metal, Easy listening, Soul, Jazz, Classical, World Music and Welsh language. With Accessories including, Gift Cards, Music Magazines, Books, T Shirts, Shop endorsed items, Personal Appearance's by Artists and Music Merchandise. I will be looking to bring in extra funding by running advertising on the monitors.

 I will also attach a mail order service with an online shop to cater for customers who are further afield. Also looking to move in to worldwide export and import, especially to and from The USA and Japan.

With my extensive knowledge and experience, I have already been chasing and tracking down New Release music formats for friends and getting them the best possible deal.

  Planning and Prosperity is highly important to the project for it to work and it will work. It will hopefully give bigger scope to increase the size of the project and include other areas of media interest which I have stated at the top of the page. 

I have already got the co-operation of The Record Companies and Distributors to supply Music Formats and Stock. The shop will be more than willing to promote a wide range of Artists and hopefully Bands will come in and sign their releases for the fans and the public.

Staffing levels, Mental Health and Well being

I am also looking to employ other people and eventually have a team of Four to eight people, with extra staff at Christmas Time. This will depend on the size of the premise that I eventually reside in. 

  Staff are Highly important to the running of the premise, so is their well being and welfare, as is their Mental Health. I aim to make sure this is catered for. 

 I do want a happy environment for both staff and customers, but due to certain pressures in the Retail Trade, for what ever reason, it can become wearing and tense at times.

 Health and Mental Health well being will be at the forefront of staff employment. Willing to support other people with Disabilities, LGBT, but it will depend where I find a premise, Everything is down to cost and size. 

My Background

 I have been very fortunate and Blessed to have a varied career in The Media. Before going in to TV & Radio Voice-overs, I used to work for Our Price & HMV in various areas in South West England and Wales.

 In my two years that i worked for the music stores, It was an informative educational experience and made a lot of good contacts and friends along the way.

  Learning about how the business was run, Sales, promotion of new releases and back catalogue. Fluctuation in trends of artists, cashing up, stock takes and of course the colleagues that you work with.

I later moved on and worked for the BBC for 16 years. Another enjoyable experience of The production of TV and Radio Programmes and of course the pleasure of meeting people from all walks of life.

Where the funding will go and Recap of Business Project.

A Recap of the business plan. The funding will allow me to set up a Music Shop selling Records, CD's DVD, 4K, Magazines/Books & Merchandise, Promotional Stock.

Make sure there is enough capital to buy stock, pay for the premise, utilities and pay the wages of the staff and supply their uniforms. I do aim to be paying above the minimum wage. £10.60 Hr is what I am looking to pay.

I still have the plan to have a Live Music Venue with a Bar and Restaurant, with a radio station attached to it. At the moment, as the business continues to flourish, money set aside and will be put back in to expand the business and reward the people who have sponsored this business project.

  This Project is not just about My goals and aims, Productivity, Flourishing and being Successful. Its about, The Business, The Stock, The Staff, The Customers, The High Street, The Sponsors, The Companies and The Economy as a Whole. 

We have had a pretty rough time of if over the last few years. Hopefully now we can rebuild the economy and get the High Street back to being the bustling business meeting place that it used to be. Everybody is welcome with open arms, I strive to make a good environment for music friends to meet.
