Our organisation specialises in providing performing arts activities and using performing arts as a tool to tackle deprivation in whatever form it presents itself. Our young people are aged from 12 months to 21 years and can have a wide range of challenges from ADHD and ASC to anxiety, school related avoidance, mental health and physical barriers to participation.
We are lucky to have a huge volunteer base who offer their time to help support the organisation as a whole and can support us with everything from administration work to supporting those who need 1-2-1 assistance to access the curriculum.
We are a registered safe space alliance to ensure that our LGBTQIA students feel they are in a safe and supportive environment. We were also nominated for educator of the year by World Skills UK for our innovative approach to inclusivity.
Currently we are raising funds to support an overhaul of our facility to ensure our facility meets the needs of our users. This work will involve an automatic opening door as well as a permanent ramp access to our primary studio space. Currently we have multiple students needing wheelchair access and whilst we do have temporary ramps etc... this doesn't allow for free movement around the studios for these young people. We are also aiming to create a black out space with sensory lighting to help support those young people who may struggle with sensory difficulties during their class time.
