Who are we?
Hawridge & Cholesbury Cricket Club have been playing cricket on Cholesbury Common in the Chiltern Hills since 1885. We are a sociable village club run by our members for our members.
We run two teams at the weekend. Our Saturday side currently plays competitive cricket in Division Two of the Mid-Bucks League. Our Sunday friendly side has a wonderful fixture list against a great variety of clubs from April to September and most of our matches are played on the Common.
We are very proud of our colts programme. We run a training evening every Thursday from 6 to 7:30pm for boys and girls aged 10-16. All our volunteer coaches are ECB-qualified or are currently gaining their badges. All age-groups play matches against other clubs throughout the season.
On Saturday mornings we run two ECB programmes for younger children - All Stars (age 5-8) and Dynamos (age 8-11).
Why are we crowdfunding?
Our scoreboard is old and quite basic. It isn't able to display all of the required match information which means it can't properly be integrated with the ECB Play Cricket scoring system.
How we’ll spend the money raised
If we can raise the necessary funds we'll purchase a new scoreboard that can be installed in place of the existing one
Community impact
Club members come from the Hilltop villages and surrounding towns. Our local school uses the pitch for their matches and there are a number of events that take place on the Common throughout the summer. We have also hosted Over 60's County and International matches; a new scoreboard will hopefully allow us to secure more of these type of fixtures.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
