Aim: We want to purchase accessible play equipment for the outside area of Hatfeild Primary School.
We have children who attend Hatfeild Primary School who are unable to access the current playground equipment due to mobility issues of varying degrees, including a wheelchair user. We are looking to raise funds to purchase an inclusive roundabout so that all children within the school can enjoy the outdoor facilities of the school environment.
The roundabout will benefit all children, including those who have physical and visual disabilities as well as those who may be uncomfortable using ladders or or other equipment for any reason. Allowing all children to play together.
It is so important for children to be able to play outside and to play together with their friends without feeling left out or feeling different as this can lead to all sorts of difficulties in forming relationships and with their self-esteem as they grow. It may seem bizarre that a roundabout could have such a changing impact but inclusivity is key!
The Hatfeild School Association is the charity that will support the school in the purchase of this accessible and inclusive roundabout.
