We support people and communities across the Harrogate district to lead fulfilling, active lives. Our HELP project supports adults and families whose circumstances mean they need additional support to remain independent, safe and well in their own homes and to stay connected with their communities. Our volunteers support local people on both a practical and emotional level with: help around the home; voluntary car driving; befriending; social activities and information services.

When life presents you with challenges, it can be difficult to remain living independently. That's why we're here to support people in the Harrogate and Ripon area on both a practical and emotional level.
Our trusted volunteers and staff support local people with services to keep them safe and well in their own homes. This could be providing transport to the hospital, putting up a shelf or being at the end of the phone.
After months of staying at home during the pandemic, many of the people we support tell us loss of confidence and reduced mobility are preventing them from getting out and about. Our amazing volunteers are busier than ever supporting people to reconnect with their communities by:
- Providing transport for essential and social journeys
- Reassuring and accompanying people who are nervous about venturing out
- Offering information about what's on locally and further sources of support.
We're also very busy helping people with jobs around the home, like gardening and decorating, that have built-up over the various lockdowns.
With huge demand for our services, we increasingly rely on support from our community to help cover the cost of our services. Fundraising pays for things like equipment, materials, keeping our vans on the road and training our volunteers.
