Happy Tears Foundation is a non-political, non-profitable group operating primarily in West Yorkshire. Happy Tears Foundation acts as a forum for our community to meet physically or online and share some of life's experiences and challenges, be it personal, social, academic, professional, economic, etc to assist those in need. It is within this framework that members of Happy Tears Foundation will seek to contribute to the success and long-term development of the community. We are focusing on the relief of poverty primarily in West Yorkshire by providing grants, items, and services to individuals in need. Also, the advancing of education and raising awareness in equality and diversity.
Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, BAME individuals and families of the Bradford district are in great need of assistance. Therefore, Happy Tears Foundation is seeking funds to:
- Provide meals for poor backgrounds children after schools are closed to ensure they are fed in the evening.
- Assist abused women, Infants, and individuals with diminished mobility who are generally aged 60 and older with shopping and delivery.
- Use NHS EAT WELL program to understand nutrition facts labels and promote healthy eating tips via Zoom.
The difference this project will make
- Reduce hunger in BAME Community in Bradford
- Enhance cooking and healthy choices
- Increase Community cohesion
- Reduce lonely and anxiety
Beneficiaries
- BAME community of Bradford mainly children, abused women, infants, and older people currently some 276 people.
Project Length
- Should we secure enough fundings we will be able to run the project for 6 months
Project Awareness
- Using our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and website), in addition to posters and leaflets in local shops for better reach.
Learning Outcome
- Learn and apply nutrition tips to improve the health of our community.
- Learn and understand the effect Covid-19 is having on individuals
- Build a strong connection with people to plan future's projects based on their needs
