We're still collecting donations

On the 15th May 2024 we'd raised £30 with 2 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Hadston House was created back in 1997, operating for the benefit of the local community. We offer a wide range of services to local people 7days a week.

We are a not-for-profit community organisation that delivers a whole range of services and activities for the local communities that surround us.  We need to raise all the funds we need each and every year and receive no financial support that we do not apply for.

We employ 10 local people, we have a bank of local volunteers and our Board is made up of 5 local volunteers too.

Some of the services we operate are listed below.

  • Youth Services operating 3 nights a week with currently 218 registered young people, and we have lots of local children, children with disabilities and those who come from neighbouring villages like Amble and Widdrington.

  • Community Café 7 days a week offering affordable homecooked food and a place to socialise for the whole community.

  • Meals on wheels services operate 7days a week with our DBS drivers delivering food everyday and interacting with the most vulnerable in our communities serving Hadston, Widdrington, Ulgham, Amble, Hauxley, Warkworth, Broomhill, Acklington and Red Row.

  • Our Social Isolation programme operates twice a week with activities for older isolated people with transport provided to bring them in for homecooked food and bingo, we also have a range of speakers and guests who come in to entertain them. Currently, each session attracts 20+ people ranging from 65-98 years of age.

  • Our holiday activities operate supporting young people in the community and in tern their families. We offer a range of activities during school holiday and also provide free homecooked food. Each session has around 20-30 young people participating.

  • We operate a free to use IT room with access to the internet and we run a range of courses for local people to access for FREE.
  • Our residents HUB is open 5 days a week supporting local people with all issues from housing to benefits and all sorts of other asks when people just need a little bit of help.

  • Silver surfer sessions support older people learn to use computers and connect with the wider world and sometimes families abroad.

  • Foodbank referrals had support for anyone who needs it.

  • Our centre is also booked by lots of other organisation that want to engage or provide services for local people such as Karbon Homes, NCC, Social Services, Training providers, religious groups and more….

  • We host community events such as fireworks, fairs also health and wellbeing events.

  • Our hub thrives with a variety of clubs and activities too such as knit and natter.
  • The sit and get fit activities for over 60's and people with mobility issues are very popular and have formed a small group supporting one another. These are on every week.

We welcome hundreds of people a week and support many, without our services users say they would be isolated and have nobody.

Help us to stay around, to deliver services and continue to be the central hub of the community helping everyone.
