The People's Recovery Project is a grassroots, Hackney-based charity that seeks to make recovery achievable and sustainable for people experiencing homelessness and addiction.
The project is designed to create a pathway and package of support alternative to mainstream services for people to access residential treatment: it is co-designed and co-delivered by community members with lived experience.
Drug-related deaths in the UK have increased in recent years and access to recovery programs is limited. The opportunity for someone experiencing addiction and homelessness to access residential detox and rehab, with a supportive community around them, can be life-changing.
