Hackney Empire’s Christmas Give
As a registered charity Hackney Empire depends on the support of the people who love it
We receive only 11% of our income from public funding and each year rely on fundraising to keep our Grade II* listed building open and at the heart of our communities.
Your support this Christmas will ensure that in 2023 Hackney Empire can:
- Work with 4,000 young people from across East London’s communities, many of whom are being hardest hit by the cost of living crisis.
- Provide vital employment and career pathways for over 100 young and emerging artists and creatives from under-represented backgrounds
- Give 3,000 children and young people their first experience of theatre free-of-charge through our Entry for All! Programme including providing Pantomime tickets for local Housing Associations, Community Groups, local refuges and young carers.
- Protect our beautiful venue and ensure that everyone has the chance to experience the magic of Hackney Empire in the future

For generations Hackney Empire has been a cultural beacon in its East London community. For decades it has provided a much-needed platform for Black and under-represented voices and a welcoming safe space where communities and young people can engage.
CHANGING YOUNG LIVES
For 20 years Hackney Empire's Creative Futures has been creating a safe, inclusive space for young people age 14 - 25 from across East London. At the heart of a borough where young people experience poverty, inequality and racial injustice, we use arts and culture to break down barriers, build confidence and change lives.

PANTOMIME
Hackney Empire's legendary pantomime is one of the UK's best and best-loved, attracting audiences of over 50,000 annually. It is, for many, their first experience of live performance. As well as welcoming over 10,000 children from local schools, each year we provide hundreds of free tickets to local Housing Associations, Community Groups, Young Careers and our local Women and Children’s Refuges.
