Gussies Kitchen

Since the pandemic Gussies has been supporting households across Chesterfield and the surrounding areas with food provision. 

In June of 2021 we converted to a Pantry Shop which gives our members the support they need with food but gives them choice as to what they take home. The cost of the food each week is £5 but for that they get £40- £60 worth of food, Toiletries and cleaning products. 

We have costs that the £5 goes towards. We are a member of Fareshare, we pay rent for the building we are in and recently we have had to contribute to the gas and electric bill too. We operate many fridges and freezers and as winter has hit we also need to heat the building. 

We need your help! If we can not raise funds then we run a real risk of closing. We support 300 households and we have to purchase more items to ensure they have all they need.

We apply for funding to keep us going all the time but unfortunately the funding pots are few and far between. We do not want to just stop providing this service, we also provide drop in sessions to support our households with their finances, benefits and household needs and work closely with other local groups.
