We're still collecting donations
On the 18th February 2021 we'd raised £11,675 with 79 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

We are looking to raise funds for the club as we are faced increasing costs and a reduction in the number of swimmers!

On the 18th February 2021 we'd raised £11,675 with 79 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
This additional funding will not only keep the club in operation until the effects of the pandemic are reduced, but will also enable our swimmers to continue to train and continue to enjoy the benefits that being part of a swimming club provides!
Who are we?
Greenwich Royals Swimming Club is a friendly and family orientated club that believes in swimming as a 'sport for all'. We cater for swimmers at a variety of levels, abilities/disabilities and ages, providing regular training for competitive swimmers as well as sessions for those who simply wish to swim regularly as part of a club or learn to swim. We have guided swimmers from learn to swim all the way up to national and international representation. Last year, we were in the top 10 clubs in Kent, a fantastic effort against larger more established clubs within the county and this is due to the efforts the coaches we have, but most importantly, we have a friendly team of people who love swimming.
Why are we asking for help?
2020/1 has been a difficult period for all swimming clubs and the COVID pandemic has seen pool costs rise, pool time reduced, and the affordability of swimming affected and we want swimming to remain a sport that is accessible and affordable for all our members.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Club was forced into hibernation for 4 months earlier in 2020 year and we are now once again unable to train due to national restrictions. Having returned to the pool for small periods of time, the Club is faced with a reduced membership and therefore a reduced income, pool hire costs have doubled, as leisure centres themselves struggle to survive, and COVID-19 guidelines requiring swimming lessons to operate at a reduced capacity in order to meet social distancing requirements.
Our aim is to raise funds to help keep the Club in operation until the COVID-19 pandemic subsides and the Club is able to attract new members thereby returning to a more normal operation and enabling our swimmers to continue participating in the sport they love!
