We want to engage the electors in Scunthorpe and give them a reason to vote, and a choice when they do. We are afraid that many people will be disillusioned with the choice between the main parties...and find it no choice at all.
By having a Green Party candidate on the ballot paper, and by letting everyone know that there is a Green Party candidate on the ballot paper, we might engage voters and give them the opportunity to vote Green.
The Green Party do not have wealthy sponsors and is supported by donations and its local members. All money raised will go to supporting our local party to fight elections. For the General Election we need to secure £500 for a deposit to stand a candidate.
With every candidate that stands we heighten our media profile. Every vote that is cast anywhere translates into government funding for any Green MPs elected. So please help us to stand in this election and to let everyone know we are standing.
For the environment, for social justice and for every vote to count.
P.S. Because we're a political party, we're required to run electoral register checks from people making donations above £500. If you donate over £1,500 during a year, we are required to let the Electoral Commission know, who will make this available on their website.
