Hi, I’m Darren Jordan.

But my most important role has been as a father.

My son Keelan was born with a rare metabolic condition called Citrullinemia. Due to a delayed diagnosis, he suffered brain damage that changed all our lives forever. Finding safe, compassionate, and trustworthy care for Keelan has been a constant struggle. Like so many families caring for disabled children, we often felt isolated, exhausted, and overlooked.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to create something life-changing, not just for Keelan, but for thousands of other children and families like ours.

What We’re Building: Green Haven Retreat

We are raising funds to launch Green Haven Retreat, an eco-rural respite centre designed specifically for disabled and disadvantaged children and young adults.

This 40-acre farm in the Welsh countryside will offer:

• Eco-friendly, off-grid accommodations

• Animal-assisted therapy & sensory gardens

• Skill-building workshops (like cooking and farming)

• 24/7 specialist care in a safe, inclusive environment

• Support services for parents and caregivers

Our vision is to give these families “The Break They Need” and truly deserve.

Why It Matters

• Over 56,000 disabled children live in Wales, yet access to tailored respite care is extremely limited.

• 55% of families with disabled children live in poverty.

• Most parents (especially mothers) of disabled children can’t work full-time, simply because there’s nowhere safe for their child to go.

• Current respite options often lack warmth, activities, or individualised care. Families deserve better.

Green Haven Retreat will be the first of its kind combining care, sustainability, and empowerment in one extraordinary place.

 Where Your Support Goes

We’ve already secured the land and started some of the development with our own savings. Now, we’re raising £400,000 to help:

• Complete vital building work

• Install wheelchair-accessible paths and lodges

• Purchase adaptive equipment and sensory resources

• Hire specialised care staff

• Launch our first season of support
