In around October last year my mam was unfortunately and unexpectedly taken ill with a condition that meant her body could no longer produce bone marrow and would require a long process of treatment and recovery which she received on ward 33 at Freemans hospital. Part of the journey on this treatment has meant spending 4 months on ward 33 in Newcastle away from family and any outsiders while her treatment worked, the care she received on ward 33 has been beyond match and continues to be even in her recovery. This ward has given my mam another chance at life and for that we will be forever grateful and hope to help them give other families the opportunity they’ve given us by raising funds that will be spent directly on the ward as they deem fit. I will be doing 5 lakes swims which will be the great north swim, and the epic events tri series in Windermere, Ullswater and Coniston and will be aiming for a combined time of under 2 hours 24 minutes. which works out a personal best in each of the races. I’ll also be doing the lakesman swim on 14th June, Thankyou for reading and any donation at all is whole heartedly appreciated. Cheers x
