The PTFA for St Mary Redcliffe Primary is a Parent Teacher Friends Association which was established in 2014. Our aim is to provide additional resources, experiences and opportunities for children at SMRP. We organise an annual calendar of fundraising events and activities that brings the school community together and enables projects that enhance the primary school experience for all our families.
On May 10th and 11th 2025, 45 adult and child runners will be taking part in the Great Bristol Run to fundraise for SMRP PTFA. Each runner will be asking friends and family to support them in the race by giving a donation towards our wishlist of new equipment and improved playground facilities.
We are hoping to raise enough money to buy 30 new ipads at a cost of £350 per unit. With your help we can start the fundraising journey to our target of £10,500!
We are also hoping to raise money for a new sensory walkway, a natural play area under the willow trees, a friendship circle and eventually a new pirate ship!
The new playground equipment aims to encourage children to engage with nature and in social hubs where children interact, communicate, and collaborate with their peers whilst sparking creativity. Time spent outdoors, especially in well-designed play environments, has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression in children. Engaging in physical activity and playing outside can improve children's mood, boost their self-esteem, and provide them with a much-needed break from the classroom.
We would love to make these improvements to the playground and to the classroom but we need your help to make these changes possible. Please support us by giving a donation that you can afford and cheering our runners on the day.
