Incredible: Over 250 Investors!
Dear Investors,
We have been completely overwhelmed by the support our Community Shares campaign has received. Almost £70,000 has now been raised and that is incredible – thanks go to you and each of our investors! That money is essential to the reopening of Govanhill Baths. What we feel is even more important is the number who have purchased our Community Shares. Currently, over 250 people have invested and that is an astounding achievement with the multiple challenges Govanhill faces in health, employment, and education.
Our Share Offer document states one of our main funders is asking us to raise funds through this Share issue to demonstrate the community supports Govanhill Baths and wants to see them fully reopen. We have always known that support was there, and now with over 250 people investing in our Shares we have demonstrated that support.
It is still important that we raise the funds necessary for our redevelopment. To help with this we are making one final extension of our campaign to the 30th November. We will be making no further extensions and this Community Shares offer will close on that date at midnight.
We are modifying our minimum target to £200,000 and making £300,000 our maximum target. We are now in a position to amend our funding package to address any difference there may be between the total investments we receive and our maximum target of £300,000. Project costs and project timescales, as outlined in our Share Offer document, have not changed. Nor is there any change to the terms of your investment including interest or tax relief. However, if in light of this modification you have any questions, or wish to revoke your investment, which you are entitled to do, please contact us at [email protected] or phone us on 0141 433 2999.
We are setting our sights on 30th November and reaching our target. How appropriate it will be for the long journey of Govanhill Baths to conclude on Scotland’s National Day.
As we get ready to enter the final fortnight of our campaign, we urge all our investors to continue helping us by telling family, friends and colleagues what inspired them and why Govanhill Baths redevelopment is so needed. You can also help by sharing our Twitter and Facebook posts.
Together we will make St Andrew’s Day an even bigger celebration and have people swimming once again in Govanhill Baths!
