Banding together to give back
Throughout 2024, the Goonvean Group will dedicate itself to supporting children’s hospices across the South West and beyond.
The time is right
In the past 12 months, the Goonvean Group ethos has grown from strength to strength, with a new focus on collaboration, communication, and community. With this solid foundation in place, 2024 is the perfect time to introduce a new challenge – raising money for our chosen charity partner.
Through our combined efforts, we hope we can raise a significant amount for an incredible charity, and create a long-lasting impact for a good cause.
A charity close to our hearts and home
Together, Goonvean Group have come together to support Children’s Hospice South West. The charity provides for three children's hospices across the South West: Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Charlton Farm in North Somerset, and Little Harbour in St Austell.
These hospices care for children from the point of diagnosis, and give support to their families throughout their journey. Their purpose is to make the most of short and precious lives, with the children and their families at the centre of all they do.
Giving back beyond the South West
Owing to the positioning of the majority of our business locations, the Goonvean Group is uniquely situated to support Children's Hospice South West.
However, our community extends far beyond the South West. Dura-ID Solutions, a valuable part of our group, has a much wider spread of operational sites across the country. We have also identified a hospice charity close to their hearts to which a proportion of the funds raised will go.
Rotherham Hospice have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, working together to provide palliative care. This includes psychological, physical, social, and spiritual support, helping patients and their families achieve the very best quality of life – both at home and in the hospice.
Coming together as a community
As we come together to combine our efforts, we would like to keep track of the companies events and hard work, so this fundraiser will follow the efforts of the Goonvean Holdings and Equinoxx Teams who operate across the Goonvean Group.
And how are we going to do it?
Here’s where the fun begins – we’re going to walk, run, bake, bike, and do whatever it takes to reach our fundraising goals. From office-based Bake Off challenges, to mountaineering endeavours, there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved and do something fun or challenging for these wonderful causes.
3 Peaks Challenge
The first event planned by the GVG team is the 3 peaks challenge - traversing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. This 24hr+ event will test both mind and body for the team members who have volunteered! The team have been busy on some training walks across the Counties of Devon and Cornwall.
Watch this space for updates on events as they unfold!
Let’s do this together.
Any donations, both big and small, are hugely welcome.
