Aim: Inspire young Caribbean musicians through workshops, performances, and cross-cultural exchange with UK-based composers.
The Commonwealth Resounds is an award-winning music charity that believes in the power of music to connect cultures, elevate young talent, and create lasting global friendships. Since 2017, we have worked closely with communities in Antigua and Barbuda to support musical education in the wake of Hurricane Irma. In partnership with UK musicians, the Antigua and Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra, local governments, and cultural leaders across the Caribbean, we have brought inspirational projects to life - such as Barbuda's first ever orchestral concert in July 2023.
In 2025, we return with an exceptional team of student and graduate musicians, each selected not only for their artistic excellence but for their warmth, leadership and belief in music’s power to transform lives. Many are returning mentors from past years, helping to build continuity and deeper relationships with young musicians across the islands.
Our vision is simple: to provide young people with opportunities that spark lifelong creativity. By engaging with composition, performance, and cultural storytelling, students will develop their own musical voices and share them with their communities – and the world.
Every donation helps unlock talent, foster cross-cultural understanding, and ensure the next generation of Caribbean musicians can thrive.
