Ever since I can remember rugby has been the sport I have loved before anything else. I started playing at the age of 5 and currently play at Cambridge in their Colts, and most recently their 1923, teams.
Earlier in the year, I attended a trial with the Egg Chaser 7s with a view to joining their Academy programme for 2024/25. The Egg Chaser 7s is currently the UK's only direct route to professional sevens, with over 2000 players within the programme, aspiring to earn the opportunity of a professional contract with the Lions or Lionesses when they leave school.
In addition to making the U18 academy squad, I was offered a scholarship with them for 2024/25 which provides me with additional support and opportunities as I develop my 7s skills - https://eggchaserstash.com/blogs/news/our-first-academy-scholar)
In the summer my parents, and the Egg Chasers, afforded me the opportunity to head to Salt Lake City and represent Gorilla Rugby in the North American Invitational 7s, the biggest youth tournament in the US. I trained, played and lived with my teammates taking on some of the best teams in the US. It was a fantastic experience.
Upon returning, I was selected to be part of the U18 squad being put together to represent Great Britain in the Global Youth 7s in Auckland. It is widely regarded as the premier U18 7s tournament in the world, with confirmed participation from teams in Australia, Japan, the USA, and the All Blacks.
