Glasgow charity The Caravan Project works with some of the most vulnerable & excluded families in our city.
Our goal is to ensure that poverty and social isolation are not barriers to respite and much needed holidays for families that experience deprivation and a lack of life chances.
Recreate Your Holiday Memory
As part of our #BigDayOut campaign we're inviting our supporters to recreate one of their favourite holiday or day out memories and share the picture with us!
By running this campaign we aim to allow families to have a day out or the equipment to create some fun during Summer 2020 to enable them to make lasting memories and get a break from their often challenging circumstances.
During the current crisis we anticipate that the support we can provide on the other side of this will be more valuable than ever before.
This summer tensions and financial pressure will be at their peak we know how important providing families with respite from these lock down months will be vital in helping them move forward.
When you donate to this campaign you will be supporting families who live on a very low income and are facing some really challenging circumstances.
For them a day out is not a luxury; it is an essential break to help them cope with difficult circumstances. We believe a day away from their normal lives could address a number of issues that would lead to a breakdown in family relationships.
Your donation will be used in one of two ways depending on what changes are made to lock down -
1. A day out will be provided which will include transport, admission to the attraction & a healthy lunch. (eg. Glasgow Science Centre; Glasgow Climbing Academy)
2. We will send families 'holiday' activities to create their own holiday at home such as a tent or outdoor toys.
