Give Salisbury Greens a strong voice at GE2024

Aim: The climate emergency requires immediate action. Help Salisbury Greens to deliver a strong voice in the debate this General Election.
As the climate and ecological emergency becomes ever more urgent, it's never been more vital to have a strong Green voice in local and national government.
Salisbury Green Party is excited to have Barney Norris as our candidate for the July 4th General Election here in the Salisbury constituency.
Barney grew up in Salisbury and now lives in Milford, a best-selling writer and theatremaker.
He is an ambassador for local homelessness charity Alabare, a patron of Studio Theatre, the city’s amateur theatre, and the Salisbury Literary Festival.
We want to to run a campaign that increases the Green Party profile and raises awareness of our policies. Every Green vote is valuable in demonstrating the need for urgent action on the climate emergency. It also gives the Green MPs that do get elected more financial support due to the "short money" principle:
- Your donation gets a Green candidate for Parliament able to challenge the old parties
- By helping Barney to stand, your donation enables all the votes they receive to translate into government funding for the Green MPs elected elsewhere
- If Barney retains the deposit, those funds come back and can be spent by Salisbury Green Party again, so we can keep building strength both locally and nationally.
Standing in a General Election is expensive. We would be grateful if you would be able to contribute to our General Election campaign - we absolutely recognise that times are tough for a lot of families so any donation you can make is humbly and gratefully received.
- Vitally, we urgently need £500 for the deposit to get Barney on the nomination papers in this General Election. We must do this by Friday, 7 June.
- We want a leaflet to go to every household in the constituency. These will be delivered by Royal Mail for free but the cost of producing them needs to be covered.
- We will also deliver a Salisbury Green News to households in our target wards.
IMPORTANT: All levels of donation are gratefully received, but please note that as a political party under electoral regulations, we can only accept donations over £500 if you are currently on the UK electoral register. We will need to check your eligibility and provide your information to the Electoral Commission, which may publish donors' details. If donating £500.01 or more, you must provide us with your name and full address and may not donate anonymously. Multiple donations from one source will be aggregated for reporting purposes.
