On Wednesday 16th May, Nomads on Kings Parade in Cambridge was hit by a fire. It has sadly almost gutted the kitchen and back area of the shop. A place many of us will know and remember as a magical kitchen, the walls covered in a joyful collage of pictures celebrating the journey and life of Nomads.
It is with the highest gratitude that the shop itself was largely unharmed and the treasures that fill Nomads survived. However, stock kept in the kitchen was sadly lost and the damage to the space is considerable. This Crowdfunding page has been set up to help heal Nomads wounds after the fire and bring the kitchen back to life.
Nomads is a rare independent find on the streets of Cambridge. Fin first opened Nomads on Cambridge market 40 years ago. Kings Parade has been its nesting place for 38 years.
For those who know Fin and Nomads from popping in for the perfect gift, to holding connections with Fin for many treasured years, we will all know of his abundant generosity. We are all met with the same open, joyful and welcoming heart. In Nomads, Fin has created a family, a home from home and a peaceful sanctuary for all.
I have set up this Crowdfunding page to reach out and ask you to give what you can to help repair the damage to Nomads after the fire. Whatever you can give will make a difference. Often it can be thought that only large gestures can make a difference, make a change. The truth lies in the coming together of everyone's gifts, love and support to make that difference, to be the change.
Joyful wishes and grateful blessings
