Girlguiding conservation trip to Costa Rica

Aim: Please help me achieve my sustainability goal! My conservation project aims to save turtles and plant trees in the rainforest in Costa Rica

Hi, I'm Hannah Murphy, a dedicated member of Girlguiding since the age of five. My passion for making a positive impact on the environment and supporting conservation efforts has been a driving force in my life. 

I am thrilled to share that I have been selected to represent the East Midlands on an international conservation trip to Costa Rica in the summer of 2026! This trip is a unique opportunity for me to develop independence, learn about new cultures, and engage in meaningful community action projects, including environmental protection.

Why This Trip Matters:

• Developing Independence: Through various activities and challenges, I will enhance my self-reliance and decision-making skills.
• Learning About New Cultures: Immersing myself in Costa Rican culture will broaden my understanding and appreciation of global diversity.
• Teamwork: Collaborating with fellow Girlguiding members and local communities will strengthen my ability to work effectively in a team.
• Environmental Protection: We will spend a week on an animal reserve, helping to protect the animals and participating in various conservation activities.

The total cost of the trip is £3600, and I am reaching out to you for support to help me achieve this fundraising goal. Your contribution will not only enable me to participate in this life-changing experience but also support the broader mission of Girlguiding to empower young women and promote environmental stewardship.
