The team
We are a committee of about 12 people, including 5 board members. The teams ages range from 20 to 60 years of age and a mixture of males and females. All in we have about 20 volunteers for the different thing we do
Our idea
We started this group to give our own children and families the opportunity and access to community events at a low cost but now it's providing opportunities for the whole community from local events to no expense days out. The group started during lockdown and we signed our constitution in one of the board members gardens.
Our vision
Our drive is to make our community thrive, everything we do is based around community involvement from tackling antisocial behaviour to hosting annual events such as Sparktacular Gilfoot and G in the park both of which are growing each year. We work closely with the local authority and police to tackle different issues within the community.
G in the park is our annual event this is a funfilled free entry family funday throughout the summer, this event has grew each year it started with our first year being home made games and now this year 3 years on we had different inflatables, a classic car show and a skydiver display team jumping into our arena.
Sparktacular Gilfoot is our annual bonfire and fireworks events this is also a free entry event. With a bonfire, fireworks display and live music. Our display and attendees just get bigger and better each year.
The money raised will also go towards funding future events such as Christmas fundays, pantomines, the Christmas community handouts and emergency fund.
We have just received Tenants group of the year 2024 and we want to be able to continue to hold these events and do even more to help the community thrive and have access to different opportunities at low or free cost.
We decided to try a crowdfunding page as we have at least 6 donation buckets at each event but the public have requested a link for donation to be made as they keep missing the donations buckets about.
