HELP!  My local music venue, The Horn in St Albans, needs support during the COVID-19 public health crisis.

GET!  The Will To Gig a quality printed and illustrated A5 sized pamphlet of poems inspired by the music scene written, for fun, by me, a freelance music journalist; gig goer; live music lover and supporter of grassroots live music venues.

WHY?  COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has the potential to lockdown our local music venues indefinitely.  A short or long term temporary closure during the Coronavirus pandemic means a seriously tough struggle for a small venue, one that could threaten the future of an important part of the community and the music industry too.  The venue provides an important platform from which new artists can hone their art on their journeys to becoming nationally and internationally recognised acts – look at Enter Shikari, Friendly Fires and Gallows for example who all found their followings at The Horn and other small venues like The Horn!  The venue also brings long established  bands and artists to the local circuit; in the past, acts like Wheatus, Zebrahead, Chrissie Hynde, Paul Young, Circa Waves, Slaves, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, have all headlined intimate gigs at The Horn.  Without venues like The Horn, our music industry will suffer and the futures of new bands with serious talent and potential, will be put in jeopardy.

PLEASE! help me to support my local venue by making the suggested donation in exchange for a copy of The Will To Gig.  ALL donations of the suggested amount cover UK Royal Mail 2nd Class postage and packing, ensuring that approximately £4 per poetry pamphlet will go to ‘Help The Horn Survive the COVID-19 Crisis’ crowdfunding campaign also found on the marvellous Crowdfunder website. International postage is not included but if a further donation can be made at checkout to cover this, I am very happy to make delivery abroad happen.

BONUS!  A limited number of printed bookmarks accompany the pamphlet. These will go out with each anthology on a first come first served basis.   ANOTHER BONUS!  Not only could this collection of poems help soften the Corona blow for The Horn, it might also keep you entertained whilst in isolation during the Stay At Home phase of the pandemic; it also looks great on any coffee table!  So if you love live music, like an easy read and want to help rescue an important local music scene, get The Will To Gig.  THANK YOU!

We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.

THE WILL TO GIG POETRY ANTHOLOGY

The Will To Gig is a quality printed and illustrated A5 sized anthology of poems inspired by the music scene; from backstage riders to finding a name for the band, it was written, for fun, by me, Anna, a freelance music journalist; gig goer; live music lover and supporter of grassroots live music venues. A previous review read: "Like the bands Ghislena follows, these poems have the rawness and energy of a live performance." - Sabotage Reviews
