Middlesbrough Open Orchestra have secured their place to perform at Birmingham Symphony Hall as part of Together for Music 2025 - Music for Youth’s festival for D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent young musicians.
But we need your help to get there!
We’re raising funds to pay for transport from Middlesbrough to Birmingham and back, and 1 nights’ accommodation in Birmingham for our orchestra of 25 D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent young musicians.
About Middlesbrough Open Orchestra
Middlesbrough Open Orchestra is a partnership between Priory Woods School, Beverley School and Musinc, supported by Tees Valley Music Education Hub. Students from the two schools have weekly music sessions in school and then come together weekly to play as an Orchestra at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
The young people play music from a wide range of genres, including classical, contemporary and pop, but particularly enjoy creating soundscapes and making arrangements of their own compositions.
Check out the video above for a preview of Journey Through A Changing World - a composition our young musicians created as part of a project exploring digital scores with the University of Nottingham.
