Deliver multiple Get Into programmes to support more young people into careers in aviation.
Young people are facing significant challenges to their confidence, mental health and employment prospects. There are over 900,000 young people not in employment, education or training (NEET). With a recession looming, it is crucial that young people are supported to get into, and stay, in the labour market.
With help from our partners, The Prince’s Trust offer programmes to remove the barriers young people face and equip them with the confidence and skills they need to achieve sustainable employment.
The Prince’s Trust has over 45 years of experience in supporting young people into the labour market, with new transformational delivery models to scale this even further. Our employability programmes give young people aged 16-30 who are work-ready, the opportunity to develop sector specific skills and experience, to enable them to move into a sustainable job.
About Get Into Aviation with British Airways:
The Prince's Trust are delighted to be partnering with British Airways to deliver our flagship employability programme called Get Into Aviation with British Airways. We'll be supporting young people from across London looking to secure a career in the aviation industry and onto BA's amazing apprenticeship scheme.
How the programme is structured:
Our work is focused on aiding social mobility, breaking down barriers to employment and empowering young people with the skills and confidence to thrive in any sector they choose.
Our programme strategy aims to achieve the following:
It's only with donations and partner support that we can achieve this and give all young people regardless of their circumstances the chance to succeed.
Our employability programme ‘Get Into’ is an employability pathway that supports young people to develop foundational pre-employability and transferable employability skills within a sector specific pathway with outcomes attached.
Get Into programme Impact:
Since it started, Get Into has supported more than 20,000 young people, 98% of young people leaving Get Into programmes feel better equipped and more self-confident and recent evaluations show more than 50% of Get into graduates go into employment.
Where your donations will go:
This programme has already been generously funded by the BA Community Fund, however we welcome any further donations to support our wider work in employability. Your kind donations are more vital now more than ever as the number of young people choosing to remain 'economically inactive' or on unemployment benefits increase month on month.
Your donations will contribute to the following:
Making our programmes accessible - all our programmes are completely free for young people and we want to always ensure that is the case. We also cover travel and lunch costs throughout the duration of the programme to ensure that young people can enrol without any financial concerns.
Fund effective programme marketing and recruitment campaigns to target young people who need our support most. Attracting young people in different ways is more crucial now more than ever as we aim to reach the young people furthest away from the job market. Our mission is to aide social mobility, improve career prospects for those in deprived communities, for ethic minorities and empower females to consider careers in underrepresented sectors such a technology.
Making sure our programmes are fit for purpose - we want to create meaningful, exciting programmes which have great jobs at the end of it because we believe all young people deserve a chance to achieve their dream jobs. Creating programme content and teaching employability skills relevant in 2023 is vital for young people to thrive within the workplace.
