Hello, support my three worthy causes!

Unfortunately this project was not successful.

To start up a home-based daycare centre. To outsource a specialist decluttering service for my Mother and help with my Cat Cancer treatment.

Hello! My name is Georgia. I am 26 from North London.

I am looking for financial support for three causes!

1) I am currently a nursery practitioner and nanny, training to become a childminder at my council flat.

However, having spent most of my twenties (careleaver) working in hospitality and retail, living paycheck to paycheck, in conjunction with pursuing higher education in counselling (2017 - 2021), I pursued my passion and interest in early years development and childcare (2023—present).

I want to take my passion and experience to the following professional step by creating a home-based nursery day room in my living room and caring for a handful of children from my local community.

However, due to my financial circumstances, I do not have the funds to invest in a much-needed renovation of my home.

The flat requires a face-lift—a fresh lick of paint, new flooring (carpet and laminate) and essential furniture items. I currently do not have a wardrobe (clothes in storage bags), my mattress (on the floor) and pillows are old and worn, and my fridge and cooker need replacing and are becoming faulty and unreliable.

Additionally, I require resources such as toys, books, and soft furnishings for the room and adaptations such as baby gates to make it a functional and appropriate nursery room and meet Ofsted standards.

2) My mother, 65, is a diagnosed hoarder and has been suffering from the condition since early adulthood. Additionally, she suffers from severe depression and anxiety and was recently diagnosed with Bipolar disorder after experiencing a mental breakdown in 2022. This has resulted in her becoming increasingly homebound and isolated, dependent on welfare for survival.

Despite years of best efforts to get support for her hoarding, significant intervention is prolonged to acquire.

Moreover, this means my mum continues to deteriorate mentally and physically and suffer from the accumulation of belongings.

I am seeking support to outsource a specialist decluttering service to come into my mum’s home and support her with the decluttering and psychological challenges.

However, these services cost up to hundreds of pounds an hour, money we do not have to give. Support in this way would give my mum a chance to live better and longer, have more autonomy in life, and function more normally.

3) My 10-year-old Cat, Bobby, my confidant and companion, has terminal Lymphonomy (Cancer of gastrointestinal) diagnosed in January 2024. He’s my biggest rock, having brought him from a cat protection centre in my local area 6 years ago. An indoor cat due to having FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), he means the absolute world to me and has seen me through the trials and tribulations of early adulthood and independence.

Due to the unaffordability of surgery to remove the mass, he is currently on chemo drugs and supplements and is stable. However, monthly medications, scans, and blood work cost roughly £300 + for each round, which I am just about managing on my own and with support from others.

I am looking for help to continue to fund his treatment for at least the next several months while I transition to working from home and earning more. At a minimum, to see him to the end of the year is my wish/hope pain-free.
