Gateside & District Community Association

Who are we?

We are a group of residents from Gateside who are working hard to get our outdated park redeveloped for the benefit of the children in our village and surrounding areas to enjoy. We are all members of Gateside & District Community Association and we formed a Park sub-committee in 2023.

What do we hope to achieve?

We have been working with Fife Council & the community to redesign the park and we are currently working towards raising £150,000 in order to enable the new park to be installed. We hope to raise this money by 1st April 2025 so that the park can be upgraded during the 2025/6 financial year. What have we done so far?

We have raised over £85,000 as a community group by having charity nights, jumble sales, coffee mornings, car washes, bag packing and through successful funding applications. We have successfully secured £50,000 from the Scottish Government and £30,000 from Fife Environmental Trust. As a fantastic small community we currently raised over £5000 with more events planned!

How can you help?

We have an application for the FCC Scottish Action Fund (Landfill Communities Fund) due to be submitted in December 2024. We need to secure a third party payment of 10.75% in order to receive a sum of ideally £40,000. This means we are looking to raise £4,300. The funding application will be submitted in Dec 2024 and the decision on the funding will be made by March 2025. We then have 28 days to pay the third party payment so we must have the funds ready to go.
