Aim: Everesting Dog Kennel Hill, Temple Newsam to raise funds for the Temple Newsam Running Track Restoration

The Challenge
The challenge is to ride the equivalent elevation of Everest (8848m/29030 ft) by repeatedly ascending and descending the same hill - in this case Dog Kennel Hill in Temple Newsam (the tarmacked hill that descends south towards the M1 from near the house). It equates to 257 reps of the hill and about 170 miles. My hope is to complete it in about 15 hours, starting at 04:30 and finishing around 19:30 on Sun 29th June.
Putting the Challenge in Context
1) The longest ride I've ever done previously was Liege-Bastogne-Liege (~156 miles with 4300m of climbing).
2) During the ride I'll burn about 8000 calories (the same amount that Hugh Jackman consumed per day to become Wolverine. Apparently, that's a lot!).
3) On average I will need to climb about 590m (10m shy of an official mountain) every hour per hour.
As much as this is a physical challenge it is also a mental one, so any support would be great. If you'd like to support me on the challenge, please click the 'contact project' button to get in touch.
