Poppy McIntyre and her long-standing boyfriend James Miller are excited to inherit her Nanna Audrey’s semi-detached home. They plan to start a DIY Funeral Service and hope it funds their dream of a mansion and luxury lifestyle. Nanna Audrey, however, has secretsm, namely her former manservant Steve, the Creature she created with her lover and best friend, Mrs Gaskell. On their last night of passion, Nanna Audrey leaves the house to Mrs Gaskell, who hopes to continue the Funeral Home.
When Poppy and James arrive, they accidentally knock down an old woman, Mrs Gaskell. A battle for the house begins. James and Mrs Gaskell connect via a podcast called You’ll Be the Death of Me, and James disappears into the house. Poppy enters to search for him and is confronted by a strange Creature and Mrs Gaskell. James reappears, seemingly changed. Poppy’s fate is sealed as Mrs Gaskell and James launch FUNERALS R US, with Poppy as their first unwilling client.
